Drug Take Back Day Event Planned in Northdale

Dispose of unused prescription drugs this weekend during a local National Drug Take Back Day observance.

For the past five years, law enforcement along with federal drug officials from across the country have come together to get unused prescription drugs off the streets through National Drug Take Back Day.

The day gives people a chance to dispose of unused prescription drugs. Getting drugs off the streets so they don't fall into the wrong hands is the goal of the national event.

Locally, the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office is teaming up with the Drug Enforcement Agency and local businesses to conduct Drug Take Back Day on Saturday, April 27 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Sweetbay Supermarket in the Northdale area.
