Controversy Over ‘The Bible’ Has Carrollwood Area Talking

Some viewers are saying the History Channel's Satan bears a strong resemblance to President Barack Obama. What do you think?

As “The Bible” nets record ratings for the History Channel, the show is grabbing lots of attention across America and right here in Carrollwood.

The recent introduction of Mohamen Mehdi Ouazanni as Satan has particularly ignited tongue wagging. Some are saying Ouazanni bears a striking resemblance to President Barack Obama, according to The Huffington Post.

Carrollwood-Northdale Patch Facebook fans, however, just don't see it.

"Love the program," wrote CN Nicholle. "I look forward to seeing it every sunday. I didn't for once think the devil looked like President Obama. Some people need to focus on the message instead of starting some mess."

“No resemblance to me,” wrote Jennifer Fehr. “I am watching and (am) very interested. It is very violent, but it’s depicting the time. I had hoped my kids could watch, but too young.”

Brandy Thompson Ludlam had this to say: “So interesting, this show! No resemblance.”

"The Bible" airs Sundays at 8 p.m. on the History Channel.
