The Carrollwood Cultural Center presents an American folk music chorus the New Christy Minstrels under the direction of Randy Sparks as they embark on their 52nd year in music. Their debut album Presenting the New Christy Minstrels earned a Grammy Award for Best Performance by a Chorus and was followed by several appearances on The Andy Williams Show.

Join the Carrollwood Cultural Center for a musical performance with singer and songwriter, Jonathan Edwards on Saturday, Feb. 2 at 8 p.m. Edwards has released 15 albums, including Blue Ridge, his standard-setting collaboration with bluegrass favorites the Seldom Scene, and Little Hands, his collection of children’s songs.
Comedy In Motion - A Cheap Evening Of Expensive Theatre At Carrollwood Cultural Center On Feb. 9

Comedian and performer Dan Kamin unleashes his comedic skills at the Center when he performs Comedy in Motion: A Cheap Evening of Expensive Theatre, in which he’ll lampoon overpaid and egotistical performers of all kinds, including pompous opera singers, obnoxious know-it-all magicians, and feuding Dancing with the Stars hopefuls.

The Carrollwood Cultural Center will host An Evening with C.S. Lewis, with acclaimed British actor David Payne on Saturday, Feb. 16 at 2 p.m. and 8 p.m. This dramatic production has been a capturing experience with its display of oratory and humor that make C.S. Lewis one of the most famous public speakers.

On Sunday Feb. 17 at 2 p.m., the Carrollwood Cultural Center presents Prisoner Of Passion, the story of Apostle Paul while he is under arrest in Rome. Using dialog taken almost entirely from the New Testament, this theatrical performance takes on a new and thrilling dynamic as the drama unfolds.
Carrollwood Cultural Center To Host African Dance Band Amandla Tunesmith On March 22

Amandla Tunesmith is an African Dance Band based in Tampa, Florida that plays Soukous from the French word for shake. Soukous music originates in Central Africa and is the most popular dance music of Modern Zaire, and is quickly spreading throughout the rest of the world. It incorporates sensual rumba rhythms with Cuban and Caribbean influences, catchy call and response vocals, lively guitar and bass lines, and hot percussion to create a sound that is guaranteed to transform a room.

The Carrollwood Cultural Center presents Janis Ian on Thursday, May 2 at 8 p.m. Ian has received several Grammy Awards nominations for her music, most notably for the album Between the Lines, which has become a classic that is still revered today. She won a Grammy Award for her work on In Harmony II, a Sesame Street album.
