- Mark your calendar: Tampa Bay Rays pitcher James Shields will be at the Carrollwood Barnes & Noble, 11802 N. Dale Mabry Highway, to talk about his new book at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
- Need something to do with the little ones today? Take them to Toddler Time at the Jimmie Keel Regional Library, 2902 W. Bearss Avenue, at 10:15 a.m. Another Toddler Time session starts at 11 a.m.
- Speaking of the library, there's a program at 4 p.m. today called Art After School for kids aged 6-12.
