Reader's Choice: Lane Family Chiropractic Wins for Best Customer Service

The votes are in!

is the winner of Carrollwood Patch's first-ever Reader's Choice poll for the best customer service with 1,264 points to the Carrollwood Area Business Association's 370. It was a tough tournament with in the competition that spanned several weeks.

In the end, there could be only one. And thanks to your votes, comments and positive reviews, the crown goes to Lane Family Chiropractic.

, who owns the business on Fletcher Avenue, said his office put up fliers to let patients know to vote for them.

"I think it's awesome that our patients speak highly about us, and it reflects the job that we do," he said. "My staff was all over it. One day, we saw 40 patients, and they said they went and voted."

Lane's business opened in 2004, but he's been practicing since 2001. He said learning how to deliver good customer service is a skill he honed over the years. One example is trying to work with customers' busy schedules to make sure they can make their appointments.

"I try to listen to people," he said. "Our staff tries to listen to people, and it translates over in what we do. Whether it's health care or business, you have to listen to your customers."

Lane said when he started out as a chiropractor, he had to learn the business side of things, which helped improve his customer service skills.

"I went to school to be a chiropractor, not a business person," he said. "When we started giving good customer service, more people come to us. I started to pick up on that, too. The No. 1 thing we do is listen and give them as much as we can."
