Patch Picks: St. Patrick's Day Celebrations

Discover a few places to celebrate St. Patty's Day. (Patch is not responsible for pinch marks if you forget to wear green.)

It's that time of March where traditions old and new, borrowed and green spring up in shamrock shapes all over the United States.

It's St. Patrick's Day! If you can’t make it the 4,000 miles to celebrate with the locals, Patch has found some great places to enjoy St. Patty’s Day locally.

1. O’Brien’s Irish Pub, 11744 N. Dale Mabry Highway – O’Brien’s is Carrollwood’s neighborhood pub. Today, they will be celebrating 20 years of business in the bay area. Stop by for live music from an authentic Irish band, Irish dancers and performances by the Tampa Bay Pipe Band. A senior discount will be offered and food is 50 percent off until 2 p.m.

2. Tilted Kilt Pub & Eatery, 14457 N. Dale Mabry Highway - The St. Patrick’s day party won’t be in the pub, but in the parking lot.  There is no cover for this party which will feature live music, a beer truck, food and bar. The parking lot party starts at 4 p.m.  If you want to cool off inside the party begins at 11 a.m. At the Tilted Kilt you can party with a purpose as a portion of the event’s proceeds will benefit the SPCA.

3. The Toasted Pheasant, 14445 N. Dale Mabry Highway – If you’re craving an experience that is more culinary than drink menu, Carrollwood’s favorite taste of Europe will have a special menu that features Guinness shrimp, bangers and mash, corned beef and cabbage and more.

4. The Dubliner Irish Pub, 12836 Henderson Road - The Dubliner cranks the party up early with a $9.95 Irish buffet featuring favorites such as fish and chips. Fun will be had by all with live music, contests and games a part of the festivities. Make sure to save room from the lunch buffet to take part in the shepherd’s pie eating contest.
