A fondue-restaurant chain with a location in Carrollwood is looking for sponsors for the third annual Melting Pot Golf Classic, which will benefit St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
"This is the biggest charity event we do," said Lauren Rosenzweig, events manager for the golf club. "We support them, and it's an important cause."
Since began its partnership in 2003 with St. Jude, more than $6 million has been raised for the kids at the hospital, said Alisha dos Santos, spokeswoman for Front Burner Brands, which manages The Melting Pot.
Last year's tournament raised about $45,000 for the hospital, and had about 50 sponsors. This year's goal is to raise $100,000 through sponsorships and players, dos Santos said.
This year's registration deadline is Oct. 26, or when all spots have been filled. Players, sponsors and donation of items are needed. For more information, or to register, go to http://www.meltingpotgolfclassic.com.
