Celebrate New Year’s While Enjoying Wine Pairings and Mod Med Cuisine at Carmel Café & Wine Bar

Four-Course Sharing Menu for Two Starts at $35

TAMPA, FL (Nov. 28, 2011) – Carmel Café & Wine Bar, Tampa Bay’s newest and most exciting wining and dining concept, offers a select menu of Mod Med dishes and optional wine pairings for duos of diners to share while welcoming in the New Year.

The four-course menu may be enjoyed for as little as $35 per couple or parties of two may choose the same special selection of dishes perfectly paired with fine wines for $75. The New Year’s Eve menu and recommended wines by the glass are as follows:

Roasted Red Pepper Muhamarra (spread) and Grilled Lemon Chicken & Artichoke Flatbread paired with Louis Perdier Champagne, Brut Creman de Bourgone, France NV

Choice of Carmel Café House and Black Olive Caesar salads or Tomato Basil and Minestrone Verde soups paired with Indaba Chardonnay, Western Cape South Africa 2010

Choice of Moroccan Lemon Chicken, Steak Frites, Braised Short Ribs or Basil Grilled Salmon paired with Belle Glos, Meiomi, Sonoma/Monterey/Santa Barbara, 2008

Choice of one to share: Almond-Grilled Pound Cake with Strawberries & Whipped Cream, Chocolate Lava Cake or Chocolate Truffle Lollipops with Amarena Cherries and Custard.

Diners may also order from the full dinner menu that offers small- or large-plate servings. 

Carmel Café features live entertainment Friday and Saturday nights and New

Year’s Eve is no exception. John Barney will perform in Clearwater and Ben Bryan in Carrollwood, both from 9 p.m. until midnight.

Reservations for New Year’s Eve are recommended and are now being accepted at both Carmel Café & Wine Bar locations:

Mod Med is Carmel Café’s signature cuisine. It represents a modern interpretation of foods and flavors traditionally associated with Mediterranean countries like Italy, Spain, France, Greece and Morocco.

In addition to enjoying the Mod Med cuisine served exclusively at Carmel Café & Wine Bar, diners may choose from a global selection of wines designed to easily mix and match with the menu. Wines can also be customized according to serving size with many available in three-, six- and nine-ounce pours or by the bottle.

Customized iPads placed right at diners’ fingertips offer an inviting, interactive way to view images and descriptions of each dish, learn about wines from around the world, create pairings based on personal preferences or control the pacing of their food and wine orders.

Both Carmel Café & Wine Bar locations are open for lunch 11:30 a.m. – 2:30 p.m. Tuesday – Fridays. Dinner hours are Tuesdays through Thursday 5 - 10 p.m., Fridays and Saturdays 5 p.m. – midnight and Sundays 5 – 9 p.m. 

Beginning Dec., 3, the Clearwater Carmel Café also offers brunch from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays.
