CABA Expo Providing Networking, Job Opportunities

The expo will be held on March 28

It's still over a month away, but members of the Carrollwood Area Business Association are making plans for the annual CABA Expo that will be held on Wednesday, March 28 from 3 p.m. until 7 p.m.

The expo will be held in the auditorium at Florida Hospital Carrollwood, 7171 N. Dale Mabry Highway.

Karla Nielsen, who is chairperson of the expo, said business owners both old and new would benefit from attending.

"It's an opportunity to meet all the people they do business with if they're new in town," she said. "Many times, CABA introduces you to the face behind the counter. It's an opportunity to touch base with business owners in the community where you live."

Nielsen said new additions to the expo include 15-minute exhibitor presentations, allowing business owners to talk about their businesses, and methods for job seekers to connect with companies that are hiring.

"We would hope that the public, if they're interested in finding employment, will find those booths," she said.

About 70 booths will be occupied at the expo, she said. Refreshments will also be provided by local restaurants that include: , Carrabbas, Jimmy John's and .

Noreen Klein, CABA president, said the event will allow local businesses to gain exposure to the Carrollwood community.

"It's one of our ways to reach out to the community to let them know what we have to offer," she said. "It also allows the opportunity for CABA members to show their work to other CABA members."

Lisa Demmi, who owns Cake Sweet Promotional Concepts, said the event is a goo investment for her company.

"The CABA expo puts us in the heart of the community and gives us a place to introduce our products and services, and allows us to show off a bit," she said. "I have participated in every expo since joining, and know that this gives me direct access to prospective clients in not only Carrollwood, but also the surrounding areas."
