Zombie Invasion: Want to Take Part?

Find out more about the upcoming production being staged by a member of the Carrollwood Players.

Have you ever wanted to be in a music video, or dreamed about playing a moaning, shambling zombie?

This Sunday you could get the opportunity to do both, as Tiger von Pagel, a finalist in the Carrollwood Idol contest, is coming to Safety Harbor to film a video for the competition.

The shoot will be conducted at Philippe Park between 10 a.m. and 1 p.m., and von Pagel said she is still searching for a few people to be part of the production.

"We're looking for people to come out and either be zombies or run away from zombies," von Pagel told Patch by phone.

"This is not a Hollywood production," she added. "It's just me and my husband and a Canon PowerShot camera."

Although she is trying to pass it off as a strictly amateur endeavour, the truth is von Pagel has an extensive background in theater and performing.

The Connecticut native has been performing since high school and was involved in many productions in New York City over the years, including a cameo in a Beastie Boys video.

After moving to Tampa in 2000, she became a member of the Carrollwood Players, where she has been writing, producing and performing in various productions ever since.

"I've got a lot of experience with things like this," she said.

The video is part of the second round of the "American Idol" style contest, where she is one of 11 finalists.

von Pagel said she chose the Safety Harbor location on advice from friend and fellow contestant Jennifer Martin; in fact, she already shot a video in the park for Martin's first round entry in the competition.

"Philippe Park is a fantastic location," she said. "It has so many different opportunities for scenes - the Indian mound, the water."

von Pagel is asking those who are interested to contact her via email so she can gauge how many people want to participate in the shoot. She is also looking for people who might have theater or stage makeup they can use.

The only requirements are to bring your own costumes and be prepared to wait for the 'action!' cue.

"Show up expecting to sit around a bit, meet some cool theater people and have a lot of fun," she said.
