Here are five things you can do or learn more about today:

1. Celebrate Black History Month by attending a discussion on African American literature this evening at Barnes & Noble, 11802 N. Dale Mabry Highway.

2. Get in shape by attending Jeni J's zumba class this weekend. The cost is $7 for drop-ins (except on Sundays, when the cost is $3), or five classes for $30. The class schedule is Monday and Wednesdays at 5:15 p.m. and 6:30 p.m., Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays at 10 a.m., and Sundays at 11 a.m.

3. Make plans to stop by the Roy Haynes Recreation Center, 1902 S. Village Drive, to play table tennis on Mondays at 6:30 p.m. The cost is $10 a season.

4. Help people affected by Wednesday's winter storm in the Midwest by visiting www.redcross.org, calling 1-800-REDCROSS or texting the word REDCROSS to 90999 to make a $10 donation. Contributions may also be sent to your local Red Cross chapter.
