Bay Area Saxophone Quartet

The Bay Area Saxophone Quartet to return to
the Carrollwood Cultural Center November 12

The Carrollwood Cultural Center will welcome the Bay Area
Saxophone Quartet (BASQ), a local group who has been performing throughout Tampa
bay for almost three decades, on Saturday, November 12 at 8 p.m. This will be
the third time BASQ has performed at the center.

Members of the quartet include Jay B. Starkey (soprano
saxophone), Jim Burge (tenor saxophone), Ted Hope (baritone saxophone) and Craig MacDougal (alto saxophone).

The group will play a variety of pieces including J.S.
Bach’s Motet, Lund’s suite for saxophones, Frankenpohl’s Sax Lix (a ragtime piece), Tweed’s Paradise Circus, Curtis’ Suite on Mexican Theme
and more.

The BASQ concert will mark the second concert in the
center’s 2011-12 classical music series. The Florida Orchestra Principal Winds Quintet opened the season in October with concert celebrating their recent visit to Cuba. The series will continue on January 28 with pianist Junko Ueno Garrett, one of only five living Shigeru artists in the world.

Advanced tickets to the Bay Area Saxophone Quartet are
$14 for members, $18 for non-members and $16 for seniors ages 65 and older.
Tickets on the day of the show are $16 for members, $20 for non-members and $18
for seniors. Tickets may be purchased at the Carrollwood Cultural Center,
