Cultural Center Kicks Off Summer Concert Series Soon

The Carrollwood Cultural Center's summer lineup includes a little something for everyone.

Carrollwood residents who want to add a little music and laughter to their summer don’t have to drive far to get the job done.

The Carrollwood Cultural Center, 4537 Lowell Road, is kicking off its 2013 Summer Concert Series May 31 and has events planned throughout the summer.

First up in the series is blues and classic R&B singer Bobby Blackmon on May 31 at 8 p.m.

Live comedy fans get their time in the sun June 21 at 8 p.m. when Traci Kanaan takes the stage during the Girls Night Out Comedy Show. She’ll be joined by Long Island Mary and Robin Savage, who will serve as emcee for the night of laughter.

Country music fans aren’t being left out either. Aaron Parker is set to perform Aug. 17 at 8 p.m.

Rock lovers get to close out the series when The Lint Rollers take the stage Aug. 23 at 8 p.m. to present their own mix of 1960s and 1970s music. The Lint Rollers describe themselves as a “nouveau garage band.”

Tickets for the shows vary in price from $10 to $18. They can be purchased at the Lowell Road box office, by visiting the center’s website or by calling 813-269-1310.
