Carrollwood Cultural Center's Resident Theatre Company Sets Dates for 2012 Performances

The Salerno Theatre Company has planned six different musical performance shows at the Carrollwood Cultural Center between October 2011 and May 2012.

The Salerno Theatre Company, the resident musical theatre company for the Carrollwood Cultural Center, is preparing to enter its third season of multimedia musical reviews and full length Broadway shows for the center.

"Last season, their production of 'Guys and Dolls' sold out all six performances," said Todd Dunkle, development and marketing director for the Center. "It was the most successful event that the center has ever done."

The company hopes for continued success with a full slate of six Salerno shows that begin in October and run through May of 2012.

"Out of the 90 events that we did at the Center this year, the Salerno did 30 of them.  We're hoping to increase our overall number to 110 events next year, and to over 200 events within the next 3-5 years."

Haerther added that he believes the expansion of their event schedule will not only benefit the cultural center, but the entire Tampa Bay theater community.

Dunkle noted the community's reaction to the Salerno shows.

"In addition to singing and dancing, their tribute shows are known for multimedia events with with video and interviews from the performers that they are honoring," he said. "They just finished a Judy Garland Tribute show, and the audience response was phenomenal."

The dates and shows for next seasons Salerno events are:

October 28-30: Dean Martin At It Again

January 6-8: The Legend of Bobby Darin

February 3-5, 10-12: Oklahoma

March 16-18: TBA
