When Good Squirrels Go Bad

Aggressive squirrels are creating a stir at one Tampa park. Authorities say it's because people have made them that way. Have you ever bent the rules and fed a wild animal despite signs directing you to do otherwise?

Visit Tampa’s Anderson Park and it’s likely you’ll discover some uninvited guests turn up to ruin your picnic.

No, it’s not ants to blame for making some antsy about spending time at this Hyde Park haven. It’s the squirrels, according to The Tampa Tribune.

It seems human visitors at the park have gone overboard feeding the furry little rodents and now those rodents are demanding their due from those who stop by to enjoy the park.

The Tribune reports the squirrels are no longer shy. In fact, they’re quite willing to jump at kids who have food in their hands, attack adults for a morsel to call their own and are even willing to dive into diaper bags in hopes of finding something tasty to eat.

While park officials have posted signs warning against feeding the critters, it seems folks just haven’t paid attention.
