Viewfinder: Carrollwood's Relay For Life in Pictures

The Annual Relay for Life of Carrollwood event was hosted by Gaither High School this weekend.

The 2012 Relay for Life of Carrollwood was hosted by Gaither High School starting with the opening ceremonies on Friday, May 11 at 6 p.m. It concluded Saturday at noon. 

Local businesses, the Carrollwood Area Business Association, area residents and student organizations from Gaither and Chamberlain high school showed their support for the many cancer survivors who attended the event and contributed to the overall fund raising. 

This year, there were 625 individuals and 44 teams participated in this event to help support the American Cancer Society.

The Gaither High School football stadium transformed from an arena for sports competitions to a place where people joined together to help fight cancer by raising money for research...one lap around the track at a time. 

The top three fundraising teams for the 2012 event were: Pride-Mark Ideapeople, Chamberlain High School Student Government and the Pink Panthers. The top three fundraising individuals were: Mitch Bentley, Nichole Orchard and Jeanie Lawson.
