St. Joseph's Hospital-North Hosting Community Event on Heart Health

St. Joseph’s Hospital-North will commemorate American Heart Month with an event focused on heart health on Saturday, February 25 from 9 a.m. – 3 p.m.

Screenings to identify risk for heart disease including glucose, blood pressure, cholesterol, BMI, EKG, peripheral vascular, carotid ultrasound and CT heart score will be offered by appointment only. 

The event at the hospital, 4211 Van Dyke Road in Lutz, will also include heart healthy festivities including a tour of catheterization lab, lunch with a cooking demonstration, a physician lecture with St. Joseph’s Hospital-North’s Interventional Cardiologist Christopher J. Pastore. M.D. and a medical device vendor showcase.

Since opening its doors on February 15, 2010, St. Joseph’s Hospital-North has employed more than 500 team members and cared for more than 35,000 patients.  In summer 2010, the obstetrics unit opened and has since welcomed more than 200 babies into this world. 

By late 2010, BayCare Outpatient Imaging opened on the hospital campus, offering a convenient location for imaging and laboratory services.  Last year, the hospital opened a catheterization lab for cardiac procedures and other minimally invasive surgeries, and a sleep disorders clinic.

St. Joseph’s Hospital-North, part of BayCare Health System, offers emergency care, surgical services, imaging, intensive care, obstetrics and cardiac catheterization and more in a peaceful, healing and family-centered environment.  

Located just north of Tampa in Lutz, the all-digital, state-of-the-art facility is specially designed to make patients and visitors as comfortable as possible during their hospital experience.

Pre-registration and payment are required.  Tickets (include lecture, lunch, cooking demonstration, screenings, tour, vendor showcase) are $15.  Discounted radiology screenings available.
