Deadline to Register for Girls-Only Conference is Today
The conference will be held on June 12, and features guest speaker Mrs. America, April Lufriu
An upcoming aims to help teens further their career goals, meet new people and learn more about hair and skin care.
The conference, for girls ages 12 to 17, will be held from 9 a.m. until 4 p.m. on Tuesday, June 12 at the Northdale Recreation Center, 15550 Spring Pine Drive. The cost is $10 per person.
Registration is open through today. County officials are hoping to register 100 girls, said Russell Elefterion, manager at Hillsborough County Parks & Recreation. So far, about 20 girls are registered.

The keynote speaker at the conference will be the reigning Mrs. America and Tampa native April Lufriu. Workshops at the conference will include topics like fashion, health and nutrition and career goals.
The cost of the event includes a T-shirt and lunch. This girls only conference is sponsored by the Northdale O.W.L.S. and Friends of the County Parks.
