Public Meeting on Lake Carroll Improvements Set for July 16

The meeting is sponsored by Hillsborough County.

A public meeting regarding the second proposed phase of stormwater improvements to Lake Carroll in Carrollwood takes place July 16.

The improvements, county officials say, are supposed to improve both the quantity and quality of water by adding filtration systems to the west side of the lake. That would reduce sediment and debris.

Construction will begin in the spring of 2013, and the project will cost about $390,000.

County staff will attend the meeting at 6:30 p.m. on Monday, July 16 at the Jimmie B. Keel Regional Library, 2902 W. Bearss Avenue.

"It's not a long project," said Steve Valdez, county spokesman. "It'll take about three to four months to complete, depending a lot on what the public has to say about it."
