Pedestrian Pathways Opening Early Along Dale Mabry

The FDOT project is ahead of schedule, officials say

Get ready, bikers and pedestrians.

The Florida Department of Transportation's pedestrian pathways project that we reported on a few months ago that will build new sidewalks along the east side of of Dale Mabry between Zambito Road and Hoedt Road, and on the west side between Northdale Boulevard and Northgreen Avenue, is ahead of schedule, officials said this week.

"The contractor wants to open it up before the Christmas holiday," said Kris Carson, spokeswoman for FDOT. "After that, all we have to do is cross walk work and a little bit of drainage, and the  job will be complete in early 2012."
