OWLS Events Include Safety Fair, Hockey Game

The group, which stands for Older Wiser Lively Seniors, has many events planned for the next two months

If you're a senior living in Northdale or Carrollwood, the Northdale OWLS are making sure your events calendar remains full.

The organization, which hosts programming for the 50-and-over crowd in Northdale and its surrounding communities, recently released its calendar of events for January and February. Events range from an upcoming crime and safety fair to day trips.

Bill Castens, who runs the organization, encourages seniors who may be reluctant to come out and join the fun.

"We always say, 'you can curl up and die or get up and go,'" said Castens. "We tell them get up and go. It’s the healthiest option. Positive energy brings positive changes."
