Lake Carroll Donations Accepted Online

Original Carrollwood residents who want to help in the efforts to keep Lake Carroll clean have an easy way to do so.

The Carrollwood Civic Association accepts donations online to fund maintenance work and other projects focused on beautifying the 210-acre lake that’s home to the community’s White Sands Beach. The lake is part of Hillsborough County's lake management program, according to the Hillsborough County and City of Tampa Water Atlas. 

"The Lake Management Program is administered by Hillsborough County and receives funding from the county and from the Southwest Florida Water Management District," according to Jan Allyn, web content manager for Water Atlas. "Our goal is to give citizens the information they need to better understand water resource management issues and to help them make good decisions regarding the management of their own property."

While Lake Carroll and White Sands Beach are both considered private, the body of water is part of the Sweetwater Creek water shed. This means its health can have an impact beyond the reach of Original Carrollwood.

What are donations used for?

“Neighborhood donations help keep Lake Carroll well maintained and healthy,” the Original Carrollwood website says. “These funds are needed to offset expenses of lake sampling as well as stocking the lake with carp to keep invasive weed species under control.”

Money collected does not help fund the lake management program or Water Atlas.

Donations of any size are accepted via the community’s website and through a mail-in form donors can print out from the website.
