Home Depot Installs Community Garden in Northdale

The garden was put in earlier this week

On Tuesday, officials from Home Depot made an environmentally-focused visit to the Northdale Recreation Center.

They stopped by to install a community garden at the center, 15550 Spring Pine Drive. The work took about six hours, according to Bill Castens, treasurer of the Northdale Civic Association.

The project came about after park director Rick Valdez approached Home Depot, who decided to sponsor volunteer labor and all materials involved, said Castens. Scotts Miracle-Gro donated through Home Depot the bags of top soil, Castens said.
