Grab & Go Kids Planner: Top Family Picks for the Week

Check out all the things to do with kids this week in the Carrollwood area.

Juggling your responsibilities, and entertaining the kids is no easy task. Carrollwood Patch is coming to the rescue, with the top  family-friendly activities in the area.

Dr. Seuss Can Cook!

  • Where/When: Glazer Children's Museum, 110 W. Gasparilla Plaza. Wednesdays at 1 p.m.; Saturday and Sunday at 1:30 p.m.
  • Why Go: Kids are invited to the Glazer's My House, Your House exhibit for a hands-on snack making class. Participants will learn to make an array of delicious treats with a Dr. Seuss theme. Green eggs and ham, anyone?
  • Pricing: Adults $15, Kids $9.50

  • Where/When: Jimmie B. Keel Regional Library, Thursday at 5:30 p.m.
  • Why Go: Teens in grades are invited to the library for a fun evening creating anime and manga music videos! Students will use Microsoft software to produce and edit their videos along with free music and images.
  • Pricing: Free!

  • Where/When: AMF Florida Lanes, 10400 N Florida Ave. Xtreme Bowling nights are Friday and Saturday from 10 p.m. - 1 a.m.
  • Why Go: Families are invited to listen to great music, play games, and bowl all night on the illuminated lanes.
  • Pricing: $14 per person, includes shoe rental.

Harlem Globetrotters 2011 World Tour

  •  Where/When: St. Pete Times Forum,  401 Channelside Dr. Saturday at 2 p.m. and 7 p.m.
  • Why Go: The world famous Harlem Globetrotters will stop in Tampa this weekend on their 85th Annual Tour. Hold on to the edge of your seat as these high-energy athletes perform tricks, show off some fancy foot work, and more. If you and your family love basketball, you will not want to miss this show. Featured Globetrotters include, "Buckets Blakes," "Slick Willie Shaw," "Scooter Christiensen," and "Handles Franklin."
  • Pricing: Tickets are $15 to $106.

Kid-Friendly Films at Regal Citrus Park

  • Where/When: Regal Citrus Park 20, 8021 Citrus Park Town Center. The theater opens daily at noon.
  • Why Go: Treat your kids to movies and popcorn this week at Westfield Citrus Park Mall. This weekend's top family films are "Mars Needs Moms," "Rango," and "I Am Number Four" for teens.
