Free Fireworks, Food at Idlewild

The house of worship is holding a free Family Night to celebrate Independence Day. It kicks off at 5 p.m. on Idlewild’s recreation field.

“It’s a family event, so extend an invitation to your family, friends, and especially, our Lutz neighbors,” the church writes on its site. “As we gather on the Recreation Fields, bring a blanket or lawn chair and a basketful of your own picnic favorites or purchase from a variety of menu selections.”

More than 30 food trucks will be on hand — everything from barbecue and cheesesteaks to dessert ices and cupcakes. Good News Cruisers will host a car show while tenor Steve Amerson will perform with Idlewild’s worship orchestra. Fireworks will be on tap, too, of course.
