Don't Have a Library Card?

It's library card sign-up month in the county

September is Library Card Sign-up Month, and with Hillsborough County’s students back in school, the Tampa-Hillsborough County Public Libraries want to make sure that all children have  one very important school supply – a library card.

As a bonus, new Tampa-Hillsborough County Public Library card holders will receive a free Sleek Aero ballpoint pen, while supplies last.

Library cards are free for Hillsborough County residents, and getting a library card is easy at libraries including the Jimmie Keel Regional Library in Carrollwood.

Public libraries are the number one access point for free Internet, an important resource for families without Internet access at home. All Tampa-Hillsborough County Public Libraries offer Internet access and Wi-Fi.

“Today’s libraries provide all types of students with the tools they need to succeed,” says Marcee Challener, manager of materials and circulation services. “Libraries provide young readers with exciting and engaging programs that make learning fun. It is for these reasons that now more than ever, a library card is most important school supply of all.”
