The nonprofit organization that manages and operates the Carrollwood Cultural Center recently received a $1,000 grant from Wells Fargo's Community Partners Giving Program.
The money will be used to help support families who can't pay for summer camp at the center, said Paul Berg, the center's executive director.
Berg said it's the second time the center at 4537 Lowell Road has received the grant, which is geared toward nonprofit organizations.
"Anytime we can get to partner with the business community that understands the value of nonprofits," Berg said, "it's a great thing."
Wells Fargo’s Community Partners Giving Program allows each of its retail banking stores to look into the needs of local communities and select a nonprofit or school to receive a $1,000 grant, according to a news release. This year, Wells Fargo will award more than $600,000 in grants to nonprofits and schools throughout Florida.
“At Wells Fargo, we are committed to supporting programs and organizations that we believe are important to the future of our communities’ vitality and success,” said Lee Pierson, store manager of Wells Fargo’s Carrollwood branch. “So, we are proud to support Friends of the Carrollwood Cultural Center with this grant.”
