What Business Should Replace T.G.I. Friday's?

The restaurant, which was located just south of the intersection of Northdale Boulevard and North Dale Mabry Highway, closed recently

It used to be a gathering place for Carrollwood and Northdale residents to grab lunch or host professional networking meetings.

Now, T.G.I. Friday's, 15491 N. Dale Mabry Highway, has shuttered its doors in the Dibbs Center plaza just south of Northdale Boulevard.

A sign on the door of the business lets customers know that the chain restaurant closed on Dec. 26, and pointed patrons to other Tampa Bay locations.

Patch wants to know what you think about the restaurant's closing.

What would you like to see in its place?

Never went there, glad to see it go. We could use fewer big-box chain restaurants in this area in general.

@christopher: I've heard that from other people, too. I wonder if a small business would want to move in there.

That'd be cool; I'm wondering if it'll be marketed as "available restaurant space" if all the facilities and appliances were left intact, though.

I agree - local shop, no chains and no more burger places. Hmmm, not sure what kind of food should go in there.

Do you think Carrollwood residents would be more inclined to support a locally owned shop/restaurant at that location?

How about Hooters?

We went there often, food was always great, affordable, and the service was also consistently good and friendly. We miss them not being there! And, as for Hooters....yuck!
