AARP Will Meet At Cigar City Brewpub

The Land O' Lakes chapter of AARP is coming to the Carrollwood-Northdale area in hopes of attracting new members.

 is hoping to attract new members with a different type of meeting. 

The chapter will host a beer tasting at Cigar City Brewpub in Carrollwood on August 7, from 6p.m. to 7:30 p.m. The group normally hosts its monthly meetings on Friday mornings, but organization officials through a change of pace could attract more members.

"We know there are many people in the area who would like to connect with AARP but who just can’t make a Friday morning meeting,” said Chapter President Phyllis Bross in a press release. "This is not to replace our current schedule of meetings, but if there is enough interest perhaps we can find a way to have informative meetings at a more convenient time and place for these folks."

The beer tasting will be educational and will feature a variety of different craft beers and food selected by the chef at Cigar City Brewpub
