Community School of the Arts Presents Whimsical Urinetown: The Musical April 25-27
April 9, 2014 (TAMPA, Fla.) – The title might make you cringe, but it’s part of what makes this award-winning musical both shocking and memorable. Its absurd, exaggerated premise explores real social issues while it entertains. And entertain it does.
A fable of greed, corruption, love and revolution in a Gotham-like city where a harsh water shortage has led to a government-enforced ban on private toilets, Urinetown: The Musical parodies Broadway musicals with whimsical humor and all the wonderful qualities of a classic musical comedy — romance, vivid characters, great music, dancing.
Under the direction of CSA Musical Theater teacher and choreographer Seth Travaglino, the Community School of the Arts production is packed with a cast of 30 passionate and talented high school thespians from the Tampa Bay area.
