LifePath Hospice Fashion Show & Boutique
Where can local fashionistas go to see fabulous creations from lines such as Cremieux, the Pamella Roland Collection and Sigrid Olsen, all on display in one place? And have lunch prepared by award-winning chefs? And shop for incredible fashions and accessories while supporting one of the area’s most important non-profit organizations?
The answer is at the second annual LifePath Hospice Fashion Show and Boutique on Saturday, February 16 at the McLoughlin Center at Christ the King Catholic Church, 821 South Dale Mabry in Tampa. News Channel 8 anchor Gayle Sierens makes a return appearance to emcee the show, Celebrating Life’s Treasures.
Tickets for the event are $35, and all proceeds go to support LifePath Hospice programs services in Hillsborough County.
Doors open at 9:30 a.m. so guests can have an exclusive shopping experience at the Marketplace Boutique, where they can purchase donated designer and name-brand items, such as purses from Kathy Van Zeeland and Dooney & Bourke; jewelry from Antica and Murrina; and accessories from Ann Taylor, Rockport and Ed Hardy. The day will also include raffle items and a silent auction for gift cards and gift baskets, donated by area restaurants and entertainment venues.
“Last year our ticket sales for LifePath Hospice Fashion Show exceeded our expectations, and guests were thrilled with the fashion show and boutique,” said Anne Ferrell, LifePath Hospice development coordinator. “This year we plan to wow people with the incredible selection of items specifically selected to show at this event.”
Lunch will be prepared and served by Chef Rick Ceglio and the culinary students from the award-winning Walter Sickles High School Culinary Arts Program. After that, Sierens will take over to emcee the fashion show where volunteer models will parade down the runway to show off the type of fabulous fashions that shoppers can find at the two locations of LifePath Hospice thrift stores, one in South Tampa and one in Carrollwood.
Providing entertainment that day will be the blues duo of Josh Lamkin and Nalani Rothrock. Lamkin won the Suncoast Blues Society 2010 International Blues Challenge and made it to the quarterfinals of the 2011 International Blues Challenge in Memphis, Tenn. The Suncoast Blues Society is a major sponsor of the fashion show and is providing entertainment and donating raffle items, including a guitar and tickets for upcoming blues events.
“Hillsborough County has been very generous with their donations to our thrift stores,” said Terry Hudson, LifePath Hospice Thrift Store manager. “We see items of this caliber all year long and are extremely grateful that our supporters make such generous donations.”
