VP Biden Cancels Trip to Tampa Bay Monday
Vice President Joe Biden is postponing his planned trip to Tampa, the site of the Republican National Convention.
An Obama campaign official says Biden is putting off Monday’s trip in order to ensure that all local law enforcement and emergency management resources can stay focused on Tropical Storm Isaac, which could impact Florida during the convention.
Biden had planned a two-day swing through Florida during the Republican meetings to counter their message. The official says Biden still plans to continue with stops in Orlando and St. Augustine on Tuesday.
The official wouldn’t say whether Biden would reschedule his stop in Tampa, only that the campaign was monitoring the storm. The official requested anonymity in order to speak ahead of the campaign’s official announcement.

Nice to hear that someone with some common sense might want to stay away from the potential bad weather and low audience turnout.
Now for the other folks coming to town ... forge on ... see what tropical weather is really like. I have already seen a store emptied of it's "D" batteries and cases of bottled water flying off the shelves. Too bad airport security will only allow you to bring one bottle per person on the plane, if purchased after the security checkpoint.
The ground here is saturated ... count on flooding... it won't take a direct hit for this to happen either. The storm is the size of the state of Texas.
Streets blocked off in Tampa for security? .... nice added obstacle ... more folks to have to deal with than the normal population ... brilliant. Hotels all booked up? .... People needing to evacuate due to flooding may wish to look toward Orlando for a vacant room ... you may wish to look up where Mr. Biden is speaking there. You may be close.
The RNC probably won't have to worry about seeing too many protesters .... have a nice convention folks .... ;)
I am already making plans to be working from my home office early next week.
