Woman Attempts Suicide After Allegedly Robbing Drugstore, Authorities Say
Woman shoots self in mouth, authorities say
A woman attempted to kill herself earlier today after authorities say she robbed the Walgreens drug store at 13130 N. Dale Mabry Highway around 1:45 p.m.
After leaving the store without paying for a prescription, the woman - whose name has not been released - left the store, according to the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office. Someone who works at the store called the sheriff's office and gave a description of the woman, the sheriff's office said.
Deputies came in contact with the woman at the intersection of South Village Drive and North Dale Mabry, the sheriff's office said.
She was armed, and got out of the vehicle saying she would shoot herself, the sheriff's office said.
Deputies tried to negotiate with her, but she got back into her vehicle and left the scene, the sheriff's office said.
She was pursued to Fletcher Avenue and Florida Avenue, when she again got out of her vehicle. This time, she put the gun in her mouth, the sheriff's office said.

She was taken to a local hospital, and was conscious at the scene.
