The rezoning project at the northwest corner of Floyd Road near Dale Mabry has the community talking, and has prompted road rallies that begin today and will continue the next few weeks in an effort to reverse a private developer's move to build a Walmart and Wawa convenience store there.
On Tuesday, Kathryn Barrett weighed in on Carrollwood-Northdale Patch, saying:
"Why do we need another Wal Mart on Dale Mabry?? We already have at least 3!!!"
Jackie Clark agreed:
"Do we really need another Wal Mart?"
What do you think about the developer's proposal? Tell us in the comments.

Saw you guys out there just now. I agree, there is no need for another Walmart. Traffic is bad enough as it is. Keep up the good work!

Another Walmart is not needed in our area. Floyd Road and Hudson Lane cannot
handle the kind of traffic that this store would produce. Please leave our quiet neighborhood in peace.

I agree, the road is too congested as it is on weekday mornings and even on the weekends. Leave some green space please!

I understand not wanting a Wal-Mart, but Wawa is the best thing sinced sliced bread! I would LOVE to have a Wawa on my morning commute!

BESIDES THE TRAFFIC FROM THE STORE, CAN YOU BELIEVE THE FUMES AND CONGESTION FROM THE CONSTRUCTION? JUST LOOK WHAT THE RESIDENTS ARE GOING TRUE FROM WHOLE FOODS CONSTRUCTION

SORRY, BUT THE CARROLLWOOD AREA DOES NOT NEED ANOTHER WALMART. THE TRAFFIC CONGESTION IS ALREADY EXTREME DURING RUSH HOUR. CAN YOU IMAGINE THE ADDED TRAFFIC COUPLED WITH ANOTHER STREET LIGHT? I STRONGLY OBJECT TO THIS NEW WALMART. THE COMMUNITY DOES NOT NEED IT ANYWAY.
