Tampa Woman Wins $5 Million Lotto Jackpot

Her winning ticket was purchased at the Publix on Anderson Road.

One Tampa woman is several million dollars richer thanks to the Florida Lotto.

Consuelo Lopez, 57, of Tampa was the $5 million Florida Lotto jackpot winner during the Nov. 21 drawing, according to a media release from the Florida Lottery. Lopez chose to have her winnings paid out in a lump-sum payment that topped $3.5 million.

The Publix at 12026 Anderson Road gets the credit for selling Lopez’s Quick Pick ticket. For its troubles, the store gets a $25,000 commission. That particular Quick Pick is the 66th jackpot-winning ticket sold in Hillsborough since 1988, according to the release.

The next Florida Lotto drawing is this Saturday, Dec. 1, at 11:15 p.m. There’s a $4 million prize on the line.
