Obama, Romney: Locals Weigh in on Who Won the 2nd Debate

Tampa Bay area political influencers weigh in on the second presidential debate.

While political analysts scramble to name a winner in the Oct. 16 debate between President Barack Obama and Gov. Mitt Romney, Patch’s Florida sites took a different approach.

We surveyed 136 influential conservatives and liberals immediately following the debate and asked them their thoughts on the biggest moments of the evening.

One Democratic respondent wrote, “The president is a real person, one who cares about the future.”

One conservative, who felt Romney won by a wide margin, said, “Obama is a good talker, but he has four years of a record for us to look at.”

A Democrat who felt that Obama won by a slim margin said, “All Romney wants to cut are Big Bird and Planned Parenthood.”

Another “Blue Tampa Bay” respondent felt that Obama won by a slim margin. That respondent, however, was unimpressed by the overall performance.

“Both candidates were a bit too aggressive,” the respondent said.

Another Democrat also pointed out a lack of restraint in the Oct. 16 debate: “These debate moderators are wimps,” the respondent wrote. “This got out of hand and that reflects poorly on this country. Also, the Republicans play into the hands of the terrorists. I would be surprised if they do not strike us again before the election.”

A “Red Tampa Bay” respondent also pointed out a failure on moderator Candy Crowley’s part.

“Candy (CNN’s chief political correspondent) should not have jumped to Obama’s defense – that was not her job,” the Republican wrote. “It’s a debate – Obama should be able to defend himself. She saw he was stumped and jumped in to help him.”

Americans will get another chance to see the two presidential hopefuls debate on Oct. 22 at Lynn University in Boca Raton. The next debate starts at 9 p.m.

Who do you think won the Oct. 16 debate? Share your thoughts in the comments section.

Team Obama bribed Candy Crowley beforehand with a stack of pancakes. Somewhere an IHOP customer sits hungry. What a farce. The fact is the average BO groupie/electorate which doesn't care about national finances, hasn't a clue about foreign policy and who are too stupid to know the difference, and the more puppies they put out the worse it'll get. This country will be lucky to celebrate a tri-centennial in 2076, the way things are going..... and if so, it'll be in Beijing.

In your mind, it sounds like you are already there. If we are not around in 2076, don't count on Beijing being the one who took our place. If we fail to make it to our tri-centennial (I hope you spelled that right because I spelled it the same way) then I think more that likely there won't be much of anywhere good to live anymore. Hang on to your purple berries....they'll probably keep us both alive...as we watch the bomber jet planes turning into butterflies above our nation...

Pres. Obama clearly won this debate. The post debate commentators and the viewer polls back this up. Mitt Romney realized how poorly he performed and left the debating hall very quickly after his dismal performance. Last night Mitt Romney stated that he intends to shut down Planned Parenthood. This showed American women that he doesn't really care about their health care. Romney intends to continue the Bush tax cuts for the rich and increase the military budget by 2 trillion dollars. He will pay for all of this by eliminating our middle class tax deductions. Romney also wants to have health care only for the rich who can afford it. He even plans to turn Medicare into a voucher system. He actually thinks that a sickly 80 year old person can go out and get health insurance with their voucher. Romney is simply bad for America. The clear choice for the middle class is Obama/Biden 2012.

''What polls'' are you talking about, Paul? The Democrat ones? Duh. This debate was barely 12 hours ago. Let's wait a few days before anyone starts bragging about who is ahead in ''polls'' on this debate. I have a feeling that on ''this'' one...the ''general opinion'' is going to end up being that it was close to a tie, at best. The Dems needed to do better than that.

I thought the President won, if there is really such a thing since these are not real debates but more like ads for Democrats and Republicans to use the next day on TV lol The two funniest comments of the evening were: President Obama made ref' to himself saying "when I was President" and Mitt Romney stating being married lowers Gun violence. At the time both were making very good points but had gotten off topic a bit which can lead you down the road of mistakes. lol
All in All it was interesting. I don't think for 95% voters it changed anything, people have mostly made up their minds and we will see in November. I truly wish them both the best of luck and applaud them both for being up on that stage under what must be incredible pressure to perform well. Regardless of which candidate you favor I think its very important to remember and recognize the other candidate is just like you putting himself/herself out there for our benefit.

If Romney can do what he says, he should just do it. He does not need to be President to invest his money in America and build a manufacturing plant and give thousands of people work or own a health insurance company that pays for everything for little or no monthly payment. He has millions of dollars and he could create wealth for the entire country as a business man. Anybody who can't see that he got rich on the backs of Americans and by outsourcing all the jobs is blind as a bat.

The Republicans sent all the jobs overseas with their Corporate Tax Cuts and they hid their wealth from the American Tax Structure. How is that Obama's fault? He says his state is doing great with him as Governor, so what? It is one state, how does that compare to all the issues Obama was handed to as soon as he walked into the door.

I wish more talked about how the Republicans made this mess. The number of job losses is nothing in comparison to being in a depression which is what Obama steered the country clear.

The National Deficit is no different than other countries right now. There is a Global economic deficit. Times have changed.

I think whoever is President has to be able to recognize the changes be flexible. Romney doesn't even know what is going on. Lies Lies Lies. He will say anything and makes no sense at all. If you vote for Romney, you will have to be just like him. He will impose all of his stupid beliefs and you will you be punished for your own thoughts.l

...ahhh....only 8 comments so far...but hold onto your seats....this is going to be a long one. Politics and pets in Gulfport get the hair raised on people here. Can you imagine how long the blog would be if Captain Jay was running against Obama? I'm surprised Lynda does not already have a dozen comments...lol. She must still be stuck up in the Lutz blog. zzzzzzz. Some of the other local Patch blogs on these debates have had well over 200-300 comments and they got too long and difficult to follow. I hope this one get cut off at a reasonable point and then started over with a slightly different twist.

Romney can't brag on how this one went...but one thing is for sure...Obama needed a grand slam homerun. That certainly did not happen. No way. I think how even this deabte turned out more closely matches the sentiments of the people and how evenly divided we are. It's too bad one or the other of them can't take a strong overpowering lead to show we have more of a chance of breaking away from gridlock. Whoever wins, I don't see that happening...and that fact makes solving our nations issues slow and difficult. It does not matter who wins if we are in for 4 more years of gridlock. Whoever it is who wins needs to figure out in dramtic fashion how to take charge and get something done without the old argument about how gridlock has their hands tied. I am sick of hearing that excuse by either party.

CJ, I think you are right, the determination in most peoples minds of who was the winner will be along party lines period. And Obama needed a grand slam when he slipping in most all of the battle ground states (Florida is showing 7% lead for Mitt) and he did not pull it off. Romney is very smooth in the debates, Obama comes across as inconsistent in his performances. I thin this is what is hurting him. Of course having a Veep line Joe is not helpful either, can you say Dan Quayle? Grin

That is a good summary of how it is, Paul. If indeed the Dems have the mysterioulsy defined ''47%'', then let's say the GOP has a similar 47%. That leaves 6% as a loose definition of what the ''undecided vote'' is. Considering how close the election has been gearing up to be, it has never required ''much'' of a shift in the undecided vote to determine who might win. Even then, it only matters in a very few swing states. I think it is widely agreed the two most significant are Ohio and Florida. I've read that 7% figure you mentioned for Florida, but I'd be relunctant to trust it for now. Maybe in a few days we will have a better idea of how solid that estimate is. Even if Romeny wins, the American public is going to have the same expectations they had with Obama...and if he does not do anything outstanding, then I say ''one and done'' for him also. We need a President that can defeat gridlock and get things done despite it. Tough job for anyone to do, I think. I did not vote for Obama, but after he won I had hoped he would conquer gridlock. He failed. ''One and done'' needs to be the fate of any President if their first 4 years are not ''very'' sucessful. We ''all'', Dems and GOP, have to raise the bar on what we expect of who wins. It will be interesting to see if any lurking ''secret weapons'' are out there that Obama or Romney have to pull out in the next couple weeks. The bad thing is that true progress seems futher than 4 years away, but we still must demand it.

CJ, the problem is that an experienced administrator is someone that sits down and moderates a consensus; this is a skill Obama lacks. I watched as Clinton and Reagan successfully and repeatedly reached across the isles and united people with compromise, yet another skill I see lacking in this current president. I think one of the largest problems Obama has is that he lacks the understanding of the basics of law passing in this country. The Congress handles the task of creating laws, not the president. I must admit I had high hopes for Both Clinton and Obama and in both cases I was let down for a plethora of reasons.

Give me a break. All women have access to health care and birth control. The government is not responsible for handing out condoms and birth control and having tax payers cover the bill. That is the issue with Planned Parenthood. I think that they are a fine organization and provide needed non-profit services. Their budgets should not be dependent upon getting tax dollars. The decision to have an abortion is a moral one. The RIGHT to have an abortion is a legal one.

Many services formerly provided by actual government employees have been "privatized" and are provided by either "non-profit faith-based" organizations or private companies such as those who run prisons. This is particularly true in Florida. Many non-profits such as the Salvation Army receive both state and federal funds as well as donations from supporters. Planned Parenthood clinics are often located in rural areas or under-served urban areas where medical services are unavailable. For the health screenings unique to women (pap smears, breast cancer screenings, etc) federal funds help pay to provide low income women access to health care. Preventative health screenings will lower medical costs for everyone. And, no, Sparky, not all women have access to health care or birth control. Many women with serious health issues do not have access to life-saving drugs or to regular check-ups.

Lynda, although what you say sounds on the surface as truth, under the viel is something different. for example, you mention that private companies that run prisons. Well the International Centre for Prison Studies (ICPS) at King's College London estimated 2,266,832 are in the prison system in the US, with private companies managing only 99,000 of those. So less than 5% of the total inmate population. The Salvation Army according to their report submitted to the IRS covering 2011 recieved less than 10% (384M) of it's budget from the United States and yet in return puts back into the community as jobs, shelter, training, education, child care, food, health care, etc over 3.4 billion in return. The final quote of Many Women with seriouos health issues do not have access to life saving drugs or to regular checkups, I would like to see those figures from a reputable source. Not saying there are not some, but the number would more than likely be relatively low to over all population of Woman who do have access.

Paul Ray, I was using the examples of the Salvation Army and companies which run prisons in response to sparky's comment that Planned Parenthood should not receive federal tax money. My point was that many non-profit and for profit groups receive federal money for services provided to citizens In many rural areas Planned Parenthood is the major supplier of health care to women. I am sorry that was confusing to you . While the number of Americans who have do not have health insurance (and must pay completely for any health services) varies from 30 to 50 million, surely it is obvious that sparky's comment "all women have access to health care and birth control" is false.

If people from the anti-abortion and pro-abortion issues were ''forced'' to decide on ''one'' topic they would ''be required'' to agree on...I think there is a good chance that issue would be ''late-term'' abortions. ''Often'', people from both sides of the abortion issue share some common ground about late term abortions. Not always, though. That said...it seems like it would not be so bad eliminating the right to a late-term abortion. They should have ''some'' sort of a line drawn ''rather than none at all''. Shouldn't they? For example...possibly limiting any late term abortion to more specific rules. What those rules would be, I can't define myself. Obviously, there would be some hard to argue points about whether to allow one or not...but certainly we could limit the right of women to walk in off the street a couple days before they are to give birth and decide to have a late term abortion. Can't we do that? Even if you have a hard time defining abortion as murder...a fetus killed just a few days before being born is hard to justify. How can anyone not consider that murder? Can't we all just agree on this one issue... to have some sort of cut-off week of pregnancy to have one of these? Why isn't this one compromise on this issue not simply made the main issue? Obviously we can't go back to the days of outlawing abortions. That's rediculous. But...late term abortions should not be handed out like birth control pills.

CJ, good for you to seek common ground on this tough issue. I believe the current "rules" in place (Roe v Wade) do limit legal abortion (except in cases where the life of the mother is at risk) to the fetus age of viability, usually 24 to 26 weeks. Science and medical care advances do wonders with pre-mature births (at a cost of $1 million+ per baby) so the viability age may get pushed earlier and the rules can change. The gruesome "partial birth" stories you hear are mostly a myth fostered by people who want to use the shock value. Sometimes a fetus has died in the womb or sometimes a fetus is so deformed it cannot live, for example: one whose organs or brain are outside its body. In those very rare cases, medical procedures may need to take place that are different from a standard birth or "C" section. If you study the statistics, late term abortion for a non-medical reason is both rare and not legal right now. You can see how that common ground has worked out!

Jim, you are living in a state of denial. Even some commentators on Fox News have stated that Pres. Obama won this debate. Only extreme Romney partisans believe otherwise. Pres. Obama had a weak first debate and Romney had a weak and lackluster debate last night. Let's wait and see what happens at the third and final debate. I believe that you will see the polls shift about 3 to 4 points towards Pres. Obama during the post debate polls.

I think Romney, did a great job. Obama had to come out swinging, his ego was tapped during the fist debate. Unfortunately.I think Obama will be re elected. Its like a bad relationship and you know its no good, but its familiar and instead of being courageous and taking a chance on the unknown you stay in a rut. I think Obama is a WONDERFUL!!! idealist ,and they are future oriented, however for the short term we need JOBS!!!! AndI dont think that is his main focus. How can it be the jobs just keep dwindking. Obams main focus should have been jobs coming out of the gate. He failed in the most crucial area...That does not make him a bad leader. I dont think he knows how to get jobs going. So I think Romney may have that part down. We realy dont know what a pres will be able to do until they show us! but why would someone want four more years of Obama? after he has shown what he can do. And thats not a lot. Do We Want A Better Relationship Or The Same Old Rut?

How could any Florida woman -- in her right mind -- vote for Mitt Romney?

Romney opposed the equal pay for equal work act (Lily Ledbetter Act) for women.

Romney favors a “personhood” constitutional amendment that would define “life” as beginning at contraception, and could make abortion illegal. When asked to clarify his support, he answered, “Absolutely.”

He falsely said at the second debate that he sought "binders of women" profiles to find women to hire as governor, but, actually, he was forced to use binders and signed a promise to use them.

Romney would be terribly wrong for Florida!

Obama's position on each of these issues is completely opposite of Romney and Obama is PRO-WOMEN.

No surprise that most Massachusetts women, those women that know Romney BEST, are expected to vote overwhelmingly for Obama on Nov. 6th.

Beth, GOOD JOB!! you researched ( TRUTH ) And I did check the links. And I didnt favour Romney eather. I voted for Obama in o8. And I have posted here before I live in Redding CA the unemployment rate is 12.5% And I just got laid off my job of five years. There are things about both Obama And Romney that I dont like.Obama has done GREAT things and yes he is pro women, but for now I have to look at the economy. I have a 10 year old son to support on my own. With just 26weeks of unemployment, its scary to think what 4 more years could bring with Obama. Romney didnt lie in the second debate, when he said government dont create jobs. Giving tax cuts to small and yes big corparations do.And its not all about big corporations. The town I live in is ALL small business.MIDDLE CLASS If you have time look up Redding Ca job growth Its been 0% for months I drive down the streets and see nothing but closed up shops. If I FELT for one second Obama would even focus a little more on the economy I would vote for him. What I wonder is if hes re elected he has to finish up Obamacare. It took him 18months to get it going. How much more time do we have and its not just my town your town its all of us in this together everyone is just one paycheck away from a layoff.. I have to focus on the big picture JOBS! I do appreciate the info it was very enlightening. THANK YOU!!

No Stephanie...Beth did not do a good job. These local Patch blogs are better severed and more enjoyable with actual comments by users...not simply a bunch of tainted, biased links. Beth has probably ''copy and pasted'' this same thing more than one place. This is ''agenda trash'' and in no way represents Romney's full views on these matters. All Beth has done is present some links with ''spins'' on them. Any claim that Obama is more for women than Romeny are nothing but simple campaign rubbish. Both these men are in truth probably equal in their views on many women issues...like most people are. The Romney postition does not want to ''get rid'' of virtually ''anything''...but he is stating up front that in order to fix the economy...new change...new rules...are going to be needed ''across the board'' on just about everything. Romney is not ''against'' planned parenthood...but he is against any ''fraud'' within in it. It would probably astonish many of us if we new the amount of tax money that goes to free birth control pills, abortions, etc to women who have the money to pay for them. This is ''fraud'' to collect entitlements if you do not legally qualify for them. This nation has forgot this type of fraud ''is a serious crime''...and those who do it are simply ''thiefs''. To seriously put a stop to fraudulent tax paid entitlement claims could single handedly eliminate our natianal debt. It's no wonder Obama is so popular. He is like a free ATM machine for tax fraud.

Beth. No way can I address all your comment. There is not enough space here. You wrote:
''Romney favors a “personhood” constitutional amendment that would define “life” as beginning at contraception''

Look, Beth..you need ''help'' on this if you don't beleive life begins at conception. You need to conquer this mental block you have on this. ''Of course'' life begins at conception, Beth. Believing this or not does not have a whole lot to do with why abortions should be legal ''anyway''...but life ''does'' begin then. We forget that before abortions were legal, women rightfully desparate did various things to have them ''anyway''. I am old enough to remembe many women dying from complications over DIY abortions. This is single handedly possibly the main reason that abortions ''ever'' became legal: Becasue women will have them anyway if they are outlawed. Nothing in todays time has changed that. Sorry to get too graphic here with what I am going to say next...The days of drinking lye, or bleach, or using coat hangers, being punched in the stomach..etc needed to end. That's enough examples...they are too horrible to remember those days...but hose days will return if abortions are oulawed. Romney and everyone else knows this. He ''is not'' going to outlaw abortions, and it is rediculous if you beleive that Obama propaganda. What Romney does beleive in is tighter rules and descretion and making people pay for abortions who can afford it instead of using tax money.

CJ, The Hyde amendment prohibits any federal tax money from being spent on abortions. In fact, women who serve in the military or women who are spouses of serving military are prohibited from using their health coverage or base medical facilities for abortions at all. No exceptions for their lives at risk either, although some local facilities might waffle to save lives. The GOP opposes Planned Parenthood receiving any federal funds, although 97% of its services are health care. I think you underestimate the zealotry of abortion opponents. If Gov Romney is elected, abortion will cease to be legal in the United States. And, CJ, many, many people believe that life begins with the first breath outside the womb. The "personhood" campaign will mean the end of infertile couples having the option for fertilization options. It will outlaw forms of birth control which are now legal. It will complicate laws involving inheritance. You seem to be a smart person, I continue to be astonished about what you do not know. What have you read that you think Gov. Romney's approach to abortion and contraception is "tighter rules. . . and making people pay for abortions. . . instead of using tax money." No one, absolutely no one, is allowed to use federal tax money for abortions now. That is not propaganda. That is a solid fact.

Hogwash, Lynda. there may indeed be changes coming related to abortions...but that is plain silly to believe they will be made illegal. I already explained why we will never go back to the day of abortions being illegal. I am not going to repeat them because it is terrible stuff to print more than once. The days of women having freedom to do abortions like they are using zit cream need to end, though. You wrote: ''You seem to be a smart person, I continue to be astonished about what you do not know''. You know what, Lynda...you deal out some stuff all the time that we need waist high rubber boots to get through...but ''what you think you know'' is what's atonishing. That is sometimes a very special high horse you set on. You see the world through rose colored glasess...and that is fine. I consider you harmless, because I know you are not hostile and your mean well...but certainly do not see you as a person to agree with. You could be my wife. I can be very sure you do not have the long and wordly experiences I do. They say you should never judge a person until you walk a mile in their shoes. You could walk around the world in mine and still only know what you know. Everywhere I have ever been, I get along with people and am considered a friend to turn to for advice. I know where I stand on ''what I know''...and I will always know more than you on a practical level. You need to change what you read. You are wasting yourself being a liberal. There's a better place for you.

yOh...and by the way...you need to brush up on the Hyde Amendment...you must of only read or know what you have heard someone else repeat...you are incorrect about it. there is no winning with you...but The Hyde goes back to the 70's....and teh late 50's, 60's, and 70's are my era...and I was very invloved with a lot of things politically and otherwise back then. Plus...I have considerable personal experience with abotions...let's leave that at that..You keep reading what you want to believe...I choose to know the stuff between the lines you will never get.

Stephanie, Simply giving tax breaks to corporations does not guarantee that a single job will be created. We gave hugh tax breaks to corporations during the Bush administration and it didn't solve our unemployment problem. It just increased our national debt. Unless corporate tax breaks are tied to hiring a certain number of employees, the corporations often just pocket the extra money. Corporations greatly benefited from the Bush tax cuts and now have over $3 trillion dollars in liquid assets that they are not using to create new jobs. For example, Bain Capital took full advantage of the Bush corporate tax cuts. Mitt Romney just went and hid his millions of dollars in profits in overseas bank accounts instead of creating new jobs in America. More corporate tax cuts may make corporations richer, but it doesn't guarantee that any jobs will be created.

You are right Joe, There are no guarantees, but who would want to open a business in the town I live in,with an unemploymnet rate of 12.5%?? So, open a business, can the people afford anything other then rent and food? not here...Also,my x boss that runs a small business said the payroll tax on her staff making over the 8.00 an hour min wage was killing her!! and I made 11.00 dollars and hour ,it got me laid off and replaced with a women from the welfare (CALWORKS) See the x boss gets an even bigger tax cut for hiring walfare recipents..Oh and I found out shes 40 years old and this is her first job.. She also gets to keep part of her welafe check abd she gets a paycheck.. Is this the 47% romney was talking about?as for Romeny and his money I dont care.... The 47% which I guess thats me now, was made under Obama.. We cant just keep blaming rthe rich (quote) There will always be poor people, but look at all the good you got (jesus) Thank You Joe, I do appreciate your opinion..

You know what is even more than scary? The fact that we are being lied to, because it's ok to lie, unless, it's to another Mormon's face! ( Part of the Mormon Doctrine) People wake up to the fact that you are bring led by the nose, by Pinocchio himself. It's been tricky Dick in the past and now we have. ....tricky Mitt!

Yes I will bring Romney' s religion because fundementally he believes it' ok to lie. That is how he and alot of his fellow Mormons are doctrined. Obama is a Christian and fundamentally we are told not to lie and be honest, so fundamentally there is a big core difference in the two faiths. Romney believes his own lies, and can't even keep up with them. There is something very wrong here with the man that is dying to be president for how many years now? Obama/Biden 2012

Mormon Faith is scary, but to me,the main objective in any religion is care about each other. different branches one tree.. I dont agree with Romneys faith at all!! What I have to look at, is who Romney or Obama can help our economy. Its rather sad, because both men do have good ideas It comes down to is they can talk, the talk but who can walk the walk.. What I would love to say to both these great minds is, Look to your left and there is your brother, look to your right and there is your brother. I dont want to be like the middle east where there is war over religion.. Thank You Monica..

Stephanie, Sorry, but it really sounds like you are makng up the fact that you know anything at all about the Mormon's. The shortest sentence to describe them is that they simply feel Joseph Smith was visited by Mormon the Angel to share more recent, updated, info to add to what's in The Bible, which the Mormons mainly live by and they feel they have the burden of preparing the world for the end of times.(long sentence)

Romney loves to talk about his record as Governor and how he balanced the budget. What he didn't say is it's the law for the Governor to balance the budget each year in his state. But have you asked yourself what is the reason he is running 15 points behind Obama in Massachusetts? Read the link below and pay particular attention to people having to be out of the hospital within 20 days no matter how ill they were. Also the lay-offs of cops, teachers and firemen. Also thousands dropped from any insurance. And this was before the economy got bad.

Carlos, I looked into Romneys record in Massachusetts. And If I where him I would be ashamed, and he is not gooing to win that state, because of it. We also have to look at Obamas record. Nether one is perfic. The difference that I do see,is Romney dont have to have everything his way. You have to give and take. For now I have to look at the economy. I just dont feel Obama knows what to do in that area. I dont think its a matter of him not caring, he does.. I voted for him in o8, but I have 25weeks left on unemployment, I do live in CA where this state takes EXELLENT care of its poor, And most of the welfare and free childcare that you can get the red guys agreed to. So both sides have there good points and bad.. What it comes down to again we know What Obama will do we have seen it for for years. What we dont know is if Romney does win what will he be like? its about taking chances and the not knowing. Like I said before they can talk the talk but who can walk the walk.. thanks carolos...

There's an interesting story about the Olympics Romney "saved". Not saying he didn't work hard and do his job but I am saying he didn't do it alone and got lots and lots of money from lobbying and a whole lot of Federal money that he seems to complain about so much now.

If we are to believe in our public servants, then at least give us the truth. This rocking the truth back and forth to self serve you is not acceptable. We should not cawl down to a liar whom just wants to fullfill his own self serving prophecy. No, absoloutely not. Obama/Biden 2012

Voting for Romney/Ryan will only ensure that the top 1% will take complete control of our country. The rest of us will just have to fight over the crumbs that they will leave us. The Ryan budget makes clear that the rich will pay little to no future taxes. This is because the Ryan budget eliminates all capital gains taxes for investment income, but does not eliminate taxes for income earned through wages. Since the wealthiest earn their money through investments and not by working a job, they will pay no future income taxes. Only the working classes will be left paying all of the federal income taxes. The Ryan budget also eliminates most of the middle class safety net and will turn Medicare into a voucher system. We will only get a small voucher and will be forced to negotiate with private health insurance companies for health coverage when we are old, sickly, and in mental decline. This is the Romney/Ryan plan for America. Protect the richest in our society at the expense of the rest of us. The only serious choice to protect the middle class is to choose Obama/Biden 2012.

You think the chocolate jesus comment is racist? It is within the limits of what people should be kk with...you are just trying to call the race card for nothing. Have no doubt....Obama winning and most of his black supporters voting for him simply because he is black defined Obama as a racist canidate long ago....don't blame Cleawater Girl for it. Your the one who is pathetic...not her. Clearwater girl has a good head on her shoulders ...she knows the deal. I promise you..if Obama wins again...even teh blacks will hate him once they realize what he has ..and is doing. Just everyone wait until they figure out we can't rely on our jobs givng us health insurance any longer. All the workplace is going to end up doing is supplying the paperwork for us to fiil out for Obama care...and handle the deductions out of our paychecks. Many, if not most , employers will barely cover just the employee noe days....the spouse and kids are going to be SOL. Even ''3'' years ago more companies paid most of the insurance for the employee and the spouse and kids. Not so much anymore. Just think of how it will be to be a yound family with health care they can't afford. Just wait. You dem morons are so stupid.
