In honor of the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks, Hillsborough County schools are hosting events on Tuesday to commemorate the day.

Here's a list of events at Carrollwood and Northdale schools:

• Ben Hill Middle School, 5200 Ehrlich Road in Carrollwood, will put on a poetry and art contest sponsored by the social studies department. Students will be awarded certificates and prizes during the all-day event.
• Northwest Elementary School, 16438 Hutchison Road in north Tampa, will host a 9/11 remembrance that will include students writing reflections on a chain link. The reflections will be hung in a memorial garden, and the school's flag will be raised half-staff.
