48-Hour Boil Notice For City Water Customers in Carrollwood
A power outage at the city’s main water treatment plant is to blame for the recommended precaution.

Carrrollwood residents who get their water from the city are being asked to boil their water for at least the next 48 hours.
A power outage at the City of Tampa’s David L. Tippin Water Treatment Facility is the reason for the extra precautions. The outage has caused a temporary low pressure problem for some Tampa Water Department Customers and a complete loss of service for others, according to the city’s website.
Tampa Electric Co. and city crews are both onsite working to resolve the power outage.
Customers of the Hillsborough County Public Utilities are not impacted.
More details about the outage and boil water notice will be posted on the city’s website as developments occur.

When you think about it, the GOVERNMENT (at MANY levels) has the ability to control those who depend on water, electric, sewer, trash pick-up, and COMMUNICATIONS- internet, phones (land lines & Cell Towers). They can control a huge number of retailer as well - ALL THOSE who do not have Backup Generators. This would include many supermarkets, restaurants, gas stations, etc.
Your FREEDOM can be controlled by the powers that be - who do you REALLY trust? Just sayin'....

I'm still confused as to whether or not my home falls within the boil water areas. I am located between Rome Ave-North Blvd-Bearss Ave-Fletcher Ave. I don't pay the City of Tampa for a monthly water bill. Yesterday I read that there are areas that I've just mentioned that should boil water. If I don't have to, I'd rather not incur this inconvenience! Can anyone give me a straight answer?

Hi, RCarol ... are you on a well or do you have Hillsborough County water? If you're on a well, you should be fine. if you're a county customer in the Lake Magdalene area, you might want to boil your water to be safe and/or confirm with Hillsborough County if it's necessary.
