Life Enrichment Center Art Students Awarded 21 Ribbons at State Fair
Tampa, Florida – Students taking art classes at the Tampa’s Life Enrichment Center were awarded 21 ribbons for their paintings at the 2013 Florida State Fair.
Awards included Best of Show, 1st, 2nd and 3rd place, and Honorary Mention. Winning paintings are on display at the Life Enrichment Center now through March 31, 2013.
Paintings include pastels, drawings, watercolor, oil, and acrylics and feature animals, landscapes, seascapes, still life, and portraits.
Life Enrichment Center has been recognized nationally and internationally for its cultural arts program and has received numerous awards, including the Annual Brush Strokes Award for Excellence in the Arts sponsored by the Greater Brandon Arts Council. In 2011 the Life Enrichment Center was one of only twenty organizations in six cities nationwide to be included in a major national report by Partners for Livable Communities, Culture Connects All: Rethinking Audiences in Times of Demographic Change, funded by the MetLife Foundation.
“It is a testament to our excellent teaching staff that so many of our artists were awarded ribbons,” said Ronna Metcalf, executive director of the private, non-profit center. “Our instructors give their students individualized attention to challenge and excite them and to bring out the best in their work.”
The Life Enrichment Center is located at 9704 N. Boulevard, Tampa. For more information or to visit the exhibition, call Ronna Metcalf at 932-0241 or visit their web site www.LEC.org.
